Mary Kay Reaches Important Milestones in Environmental Sustainability in The First Half of 2022

The network marketing company has committed to several significant environmental sustainability initiatives during the first six months of the year, meeting its corporate social responsibility goals.

In a press release, Mary Kay announced the milestones and missions related to environmental sustainability it has achieved in the first half of 2022:

  • Partnered with the Nature Conservancy to produce a short film, which was written, directed and produced solely by women. Forest of Hope tells the story of the efforts of Doña Angelica, who at 71 years old leads an ecosystem-focused team in Mexico.
  • Mary Kay Chief Operating Officer Deborah Gibbins, in a panel entitled “Investing in Women Entrepreneurs to Address Climate Change” urged the public and private sectors to join the Women’s Entrepreneurship Accelerator (WEA), which catalyses women’s entrepreneurship.
  • Company representatives consulted with the governments of Tajikistan and the Netherlands to define the role the private sector will play in the Water Action Agenda, a non-negotiated outcome document, which sets out commitments to be announced at next year’s UN Water Conference.
  • Mary Kay participated in the panel “Making Waves: Women in Water Conservation” It focused on women leaders around the world who are working to restore the health of the oceans.
  • The company ranked 91st in the Purpose Power Index, the largest study ever conducted to measure perceptions of brand purpose.
  • Mary Kay continues to take action on its journey to rely solely on renewable energy. These initiatives began in the 1980s and have culminated today with Mary Kay’s world headquarters and global manufacturing facility going 100% renewable energy in 2014.
