Surely, on more than one occasion, you have felt that the path you are following will not lead you to fulfil your dreams, that the days go by and you find yourself at the same point, even though you are working hard. It’s this feeling of being stuck that frustrates and demotivates you. You are not the only one who feels this way.
Society has sold us the illusion that few people can achieve their dreams, that only a few are blessed to be able to dedicate themselves to what they like and achieve their goals. But this doesn’t have to be so.
This is the story of Quini Amores, one of the most recognised leaders in network marketing, someone who had to lose his fear of changing the path that others had set out for him in order to follow his own path and obtain what he always wanted: the freedom to travel the world.
3 great life lessons from Quini Amores
Quini Amores has always been a great dreamer. From a very young age, he has always had one thing very clear: borders are too small for him. He dreamed of travelling the world and living endless adventures like the characters in his favourite books.
However, no one ever told him what he had to do to achieve what he wanted. Coming from a humble family, Quini didn’t want to duplicate the reality his parents lived: working day and night and still not being able to make ends meet. So, at just 13 years of age, he took to the streets to work, and it was at that early age that he became a disciplined person and learned one of life’s first great lessons:
Sometimes it is necessary to do something that doesn’t satisfy you in order to have what you want.
Although the jobs Quini did in his youth didn’t pay him much. It was enough to buy the football shoes that his family couldn’t afford, and that was enough for him at the time.
The second great life lesson Quini learned was not long in coming. At the age of 15, he started working at a fair 16 hours a day, 7 days a week for 20 years, despite that he had no dream holidays, nor did he travel the world. That’s when Quini learned that:
Hard work does not necessarily make a good life.
One day, tired after a long day and frustrated by the ill-treatment he was receiving from his boss, Quini went to take a break in a harbour near his work. There Quini sat down to analyse his reality, how 20 years had passed and he was still not fulfilling any of his dreams, he was not a free person and he was following the same path as his parents. He felt stagnant, disappointed and unmotivated, and that’s when he asked himself the big question: “Quini, what you are doing allows you to live the life you want?”
As if by fate, a few seconds after asking this question, he saw the red Ferrari of his dreams pass before his eyes. Without thinking twice, Quini stood up and approached the driver to ask him what he was doing for a car like that. The answer surprised him greatly. The owner of the car told him that he didn’t work, he was a big businessman with construction companies around the world and he was dedicated to managing them while living the high life.
From there and in search of answers that would enlighten him, Quini began to ask the people who had the life he wanted, what they did to achieve it. One of those in particular gave him a book that would change Quini’s mindset and the way he saw the world. This book was “The strangest secret in the world”, which stated that the percentage of people who achieve their dreams is made up of artists, elite athletes, inventors… But above all, entrepreneurs.
It was there that Quini made the decision to quit his job at the fair, save as much as he could and get a mortgage with which he could open his own restaurant. But again, he sought to achieve his dreams by walking the wrong path. Quini didn’t have the freedom he dreamed of and that was his third big lesson:
No one has taught us financial education.
But life always has something better in store for us, even if we don’t see it that way at first.
The world crisis arrived in Spain, taxes increased, income decreased, and Quini could not cope with the declining economy. In just months he had lost what he had fought for all his life, his house, his restaurant, and had a debt of more than 800,000 euros. He did not see a favourable destiny for him.
“Empty your pocket in your mind, and your mind will fill both your pockets”.
When Quini thought all was lost, he came across an advertisement that said “Empty your pocket in your mind, and your mind will fill both your pockets”. That was a revelation for him, and he went to a bookshop to invest the money he had left in books, which he bought and which motivated him to move forward:

- Think and grow rich.
Quini was seeing this change in his thinking, and then a friend invited him to an “The Secret” conference, where he was not very confident and didn’t pay much attention, but, again, fate had better things in store for him. At the end of the conference, the speaker came up to Quini and said: “One day, you and I will go into business together”, a phrase that left Quini thinking all night.
The next day, Quini called Eduardo Sanchez, the speaker, and told him layer by layer what his reality was at the moment and asked how he could get out of it and change his course. That’s when Eduardo introduced him to network marketing, a business where with little money, you can start to achieve great things.
“I have met wonderful people, but above all, I understood that the key to success in anything you do in life is decisions. Decisions create wealth.”
With what little Quini had he joined the company that changed his life, that allowed him to pay off his debts, have a home, peace of mind and the freedom to travel the world while doing what he is passionate about: helping people achieve their dreams and release their full potential.
“If I have been able to do it, you can do it. If someone like me, uneducated, without personal self-esteem, broke, with no one trusting me, has been able to find a better place to have wealth, to have freedom of choice, you can do it, too. Because this industry is not perfect, but as Eric Worre says, it is better.”
Choose the mentors who will guide you to your best version of yourself.
One of the most important pieces of advice Quini gives to people who, like him, feel stuck, demotivated, defeated and discouraged, is to choose their mentors.
“When you choose your mentor, you choose your future.”
Quini chose mentors in the early years of his life who would not take him to where he wanted to go, until he learned that the secret is to choose a mentor who is what you want to be, and who has what you want to have. It is that person who will guide you to the future you want and help you achieve your dreams.
Today, Quini has become that mentor, and is impacting the lives of other entrepreneurs with his story, his experience and his attitude full of positivity, empathy and service.
