Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has appointed its co-founder Yi He as co-chief executive alongside Richard Teng, the company announced on Wednesday.
The dual leadership structure aims to strengthen Binance’s global expansion efforts while developing infrastructure for Web3, which refers to a decentralised version of the internet that operates using blockchain technology.
‘Yi has been an integral part of the executive leadership team since Binance’s launch,’ Teng said in the announcement.
Yi, who helped establish the cryptocurrency exchange, will now share the top executive position with Teng as the company continues to navigate the changing landscape of digital assets.
