Adobe launches Acrobat Studio to turn PDFs into AI-powered workspaces

Programming giant Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) announced Tuesday the launch of Acrobat Studio, a new platform the company says is designed to merge productivity, creativity, and artificial intelligence into a single environment.

For the San Jose, California-based company, the product represents a significant evolution for PDF, more than three decades after Adobe first created the format.

Acrobat Studio, which the company announced is available globally in English starting today, combines Adobe Acrobat’s document tools with Adobe Express’s content creation and agentic AI.

The platform introduces “PDF Spaces,” which transform collections of files and websites into interactive knowledge centers powered by customizable AI Assistants.

Early access pricing starts at $24.99 per month for individuals and $29.99 per month for teams, according to Adobe.

The product transforms “PDFs from static files into a dynamic environment for discovering ideas, generating concepts, offering recommendations, and synthesizing information,” the company said.

Adobe explained that AI assistants can be assigned roles such as “coach” or “analyst” to help merge information, generate ideas, and provide recommendations. Spaces, along with their AI assistants, can be shared for collaborative use.

“Acrobat Studio is where your best work comes together, uniting the productivity of Acrobat, the creative power of Adobe Express, and the power of AI to enable you to work smarter and faster,” said Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of the Document Products Group at Adobe.

Additionally, the platform allows users to extract information from documents and immediately convert it into visual content such as reports, infographics, or presentations.

Adobe adds that through the Express Premium toolset, Acrobat Studio provides access to professionally designed templates, brand kits, and generative tools powered by Firefly for text-to-image and text-to-video content.

The company said Acrobat Studio retains the trusted PDF tools of Acrobat Pro, including editing, scanning, e-signing, and document protection. AI-powered synthesis of scanned documents and contracts is also included.

Enterprise-grade security was also highlighted, with isolated environments, encryption, and compliance-ready features.
