The Yager couple are the people who have built the largest network marketing organisation in the world today, and they did it through one of the most recognised companies in the industry, Amway. Today, their team has a presence in more than 40 countries around the world and has over 1 million members and distributors generating up to $2.6 billion each year.
In their downline, Dexter and Birdie have had some of today’s Hall of Fame multi-levelers, such as Tim Folley and Bill Brit. Dexter Yager’s earnings from his years of hard work are in the region of 15 million dollars. But the couple’s life was not always this prosperous.
In 1957, Dexter Yager graduated from high school and almost immediately took a job in sales, at which he excelled. Over the years, he went from selling Sears brand tools to Ford cars, and finally, Utica Club beers, in Rome and New York, his hometown. However, most of these companies went bankrupt, complicating matters for Dexter, who struggled to make ends meet on $95 a week.
The Yager family joins Amway.
It was in 1964 that the Yagers began to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the way out of the financial hardship they were experiencing. The magic moment came when a family member told them about Amway, and without a second thought, they made it the centre of their lives.
Five years later, in 1969, Dexter moved his entire family to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they were leaders of a rapidly growing team. Dexter and Birdie became Silver Distributors much sooner than people expected, which prompted Dexter to quit his sales job and devote himself to Amway. Every weekend, he and his family would travel across the United States in an RV to various scheduled meetings.
The business was initially run by Dexter and Birdie, but soon his older children joined, making it a family business with great achievements within the company.

Dexter was always one step ahead of the rest, with ideas that were innovative and ahead of their time. He was the first to pioneer training systems and motivational tapes, which is why he is considered by many to be “The Father of Modern MLM”, as most of the training and growth systems implemented today have their roots in the strategies carried out by the Yager family.
A family business.
Dexter and Bierdie Yager are the proud parents of seven children, each of whom played a pivotal role in their business, becoming an important part of it as they grew up. From stocking shelves, to receiving products, to answering the phone.
It was the older three, Doyle, Jeff and Steve, who decided to go the extra mile and become active members of their parents’ team.
The couple were delighted that their children were encouraged to follow in their footsteps. Thanks to what they had learned throughout their lives about network marketing and the experience they had with their parents, they reached the highest levels quickly, achieving success, just like their parents, the best mentors they could have had.
The Yagers were always very clear that one of the lessons they wanted to pass on to their children was the importance of always taking the time to help others, and they certainly succeeded in doing so.

Dexter and Birdie have been asked on many occasions what the secret to success was, and each time, they said that the crucial factor in achieving your goals is to be very clear about your dreams, and never give up on them.

On 7 January, 2019, the world suffered the loss of Dexter Yager, a network marketing legend, the most successful man in the history of Amway.
