With over three decades of experience split between the corporate world and direct sales, this XPro Sales Director not only embodies the essence of transformational leadership, but is also redefining what it means to build communities in the Indian market. His story is a testament to reinvention, passion, unwavering belief in the power of networks.

From Corporate Management to the Heart of Direct Sales

Born in Kolkata, capital of West Bengal (India), Biswas began his career in telecommunications, where he built his discipline over seven years. He then moved into sectors such as insurance, mutual funds banking, spending 13 years in mid- and senior-level management positions at giants like Reliance Capital, Allianz and Bajaj.

However, in 2014, Sugata decided to become an entrepreneur and build something of his own, leaving behind his corporate job and focusing on developing his strengths: “My strength has always been public speaking. I worked on my own. And networking, meeting lots of people, building teams. So I thought I should try starting with direct sales,” he shares.

Today, with over a decade in the sector, Biswas combines the best of both worlds: the structure of corporate management and the agility of networking.

XPro: More Than a Platform, an Ecosystem of Innovation and Connection

As a director at XPro, his mission is ambitious: to build a “solid, dedicated dynamic” community that promotes FinTech products and services from global partners in India and Southeast Asia. To achieve this, Biswas designed a replicable system based on three pillars:

  • Organic expansion

“I developed this team through a suitable system that can be easily replicated, bringing out the best in this community by creating core leadership in the market, training sessions, workshops, a structured system community expansion,” he states.

His understanding of the Indian market is key. “I know the Indian market very well because I’ve worked in rural areas, urban areas and metropolitan cities. I know exactly how to handle these three distinct markets,” he explains. He also emphasizes attracting fresh talent: “I want to bring in many new people, not just from the industry, but also from new sectors. I plan to help them understand the products and services, technology tools and grow together.”

Vision 2030: Turning India into the Epicenter of Affiliate Marketing

Biswas holds an optimistic view of the industry’s future. With the Indian direct sales market expected to reach $7.5 billion in 2024, he sees XPro leading the industry in five years, becoming the ideal space for millions to achieve their goals.

With his mix of corporate pragmatism and passion for networking, Sugata Biswas is not just climbing the ranks, he’s rewriting the rules of the game. And in his words, this is only the beginning: “XPro is already in our blood. We can’t imagine any other future.”
